The Pedal Assist Sensor also in the short form PAS helps you detect when you pedalling.
It is rainproof, built with 12 magnets (also known as Pedal Assist Poles or Pedal Assist Magnets) giving you a predictable detection when you start or stop pedalling.
In the DATE DPx3 Eggrider display you should set the PAS Gain to 32 which translates into 12 magnets. Increasing the PAS gain would make the bike accelerate a bit slower while reducing it to e.g. 16 would make some controllers accelerate a bit faster.
You can continue experiencing different PAS gains values which should be numbered the POWER of 2.
The PAS sensor must be mounted on the left side of the crank, on the Bottom Bracket itself.
When you want to upgrade your riding experience you could consider the DATE BBx2 as it will bring the riding experience to a totally new level!
Unlike the PAS sensor, the TORQUE sensor also detects how hard you push the pedals, hence you will be able to control the controller & motor power with your legs power. The harder you push the more power you squeeze from the controller.
This is also helping with the range, as it will no longer push the MAX power all the time when you pedal, but proportional to your effort which makes it save energy on flat land and when riding downhill. In comparison, the Torque Sensor has 24 magnets which also gives you a smoother ride so the PAS GAIN should be set to 64.
